Stearic acid has powerful cleaning abilities as a surfactant, a compound that helps lower the surface tension of water so it can mix with oil and dirt on the skin's surface. Because of stearic acid, soap particles are able to cling to dirt and oil on the skin, loosening them so they can be easily washed away with water. Stearic acid acts as an emulsifier, meaning it can combine with other substances (like oil and water) that are normally separate and incompatible.
Stearic acid is suitable for four types of skin: firm skin, non-pigmented skin, dry skin, and tolerant skin. It is commonly used as an adhesive, emollient, and emulsifier in cosmetics. It is a saturated fatty acid and is often added to products such as lipstick and soap.

As a surfactant, stearic acid has a strong cleaning ability. Surfactants are compounds that help reduce the surface tension of water so that it can mix with oil and dirt on the surface of the skin. Because of stearic acid, soap particles can adhere to the dirt and oil on the skin, loosening them so that they can be easily washed away by water.

Stearic acid is used as an emulsifier, which means that it can be combined with other substances (such as oil and water), which are usually separated and incompatible. Without stearic acid, your cleanser will not remain smooth and milky, but will separate like oil and vinegar in salad dressing.

Stearic acid is used in two types of skin care products, vanishing cream and cold cream, to emulsify them, turning them into a stable and white paste. Stearic acid is also the main raw material for making almond honey and milk. Stearic acid soap esters are more widely used in the cosmetics industry
